Terms of Use

Article 1 (Scope of application)

The "Sunshine Aquarium Terms & Conditions" (hereinafter referred to as "the Terms") apply to all visitors to Sunshine Aquarium (hereinafter referred to as "the Aquarium"), operated by Sunshine Enterprise Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "our Company").

Article 2 (Admissions tickets)

  1. Access to the Aquarium requires a general admission ticket, an annual pass, or a membership card. No entry is allowed for visitors who have forgotten to bring their tickets.
  2. Refer to the Aquarium’s website or related information kits for more admission information.
  3. Refer to the specific terms & conditions provided by ticket agencies regarding the details of the ticket sales agreement such as payment, redemption, refund policies, etc.
  4. The "Aquarium Club Terms & Conditions" also apply to the members of the Aquarium Club in addition to the Terms.
  5. The "Sunshine Aquarium Annual Pass Terms & Conditions" also apply to annual pass holders in addition to the Terms.
  6. Tickets and discount coupons are only valid before their expiration date.
  7. Only annual passport and Aquarium Club membership card holders are allowed to re-enter the Aquarium on the same day. No re-entry for general admission ticket holders.
  8. No ticket refund or reissue is allowed unless otherwise specified in the terms & conditions from the ticket agency.

Article 3 (Opening days and hours)

Kindly refer to the Aquarium’s website for its opening days and hours. Our Company reserves the right to make changes without prior notice.

Article 4 (Prohibitions)

The following items are strictly prohibited at the Aquarium. Our staff members (hereinafter referred to as "our Staff") reserve the final interpretation.

General items

  1. Unauthorized use of tickets, the Aquarium’s membership card, and the annual pass
  2. Unauthorized use of credit cards & e-money
  3. False declarations to our Staff
  4. Use of firearms or explosives
  5. Smoking acts (including e-cigarettes)
  6. Entry to the Aquarium under alcohol influence or excessive use of alcohol at the Aquarium
  7. Entry to the Aquarium with a full-face mask (except for medical purposes)
  8. Unauthorized relocation of the Aquarium’s properties
  9. Damages to the Aquarium’s properties (including decorations, consumable items, etc.)
  10. Unauthorized access to restricted areas at the Aquarium
  11. Nuisance to other visitors or breaking the law, including acts of violence, threat, intimidation, extortion, coercion, demands for money and properties, etc., including all actions could possibly result in any of the above.
  12. Infringement on the portrait rights of our Staff (except for the authorized filming time in our events and guides to our animals)
  13. Placement of personal belongings to save seats/occupy any exhibition areas
  14. Dangerous acts such as running around the Aquarium
  15. Child neglect
  16. Unauthorized use of any musical instruments/loud-sound devices
  17. Eating/drinking at the Aquarium
  18. Unauthorized use of transport means such as skateboards, rollerblades, roller skates, kickboards, bicycles, or any other vehicles deemed inappropriate by our Company
  19. Activities of any political organizations, antisocial groups, or any religious associations
  20. Unauthorized use of our energy sources (e.g. electricity outlets, etc.)
  21. Use of radio equipment or megaphones and distribution of flyers
  22. Unauthorized selling and promotional activities
  23. Displays of goods or novelties on tables/floors, trading activities and money transactions with other visitors
  24. Gift our Staff or our animals
  25. Failure to follow the rules/instructions from our Company/ our Staff
  26. Violation of public order and morals, including all actions that could result in any
  27. Entry with any of the following
    • Dogs other than service dogs; pets including cats, birds, and any of livestock or poultry
    • Items generally considered as dangerous, e.g. firearms, swords, and other weapons
    • Explosive items, fire-igniting items, toxic-gas generating items
    • Any harmful substances
    • Large items such as suitcases, trolleys, and kid’s vehicles (e.g. electric ride-on cars except for strollers)
    • Noise-generating/ smelling items (including excessive perfume or cologne)
    • Any items that may affect the animals in the Aquarium (e.g. loud musical instruments, laser pointers, bubble soap toys)
    • Food and beverages (except for beverages in lidded bottles/thermos and baby food)
    • Photography equipment (e.g. monopods, tripods, or selfie sticks)
    • Drones/ remote-controlled devices
    • Any items that may disrupt the operations of the Aquarium or cause nuisance/ bring inconvenience to other visitors
  28. Any act that is deemed to be "customer harassment" in laws, regulations, manuals and guidelines stipulated by government/ related associations/ "Sunshine City Group Basic Policies on Customer Harassment/ other related parties
  29. Posting the personal information of our Staff on social media/the internet (e.g. photos, audio and video records; except those taken in the authorized time at our events/guides to our animal)
  30. Posting false information/ defamation on social media/ the internet
  31. Any other acts deemed inappropriate by our Company/ our Staff

Aquarium animals and exhibits

  1. Placing hands or any object into or over the water surface of the exhibit tanks
  2. Feeding our animal/ wild birds without permission from our Company
  3. Being mischievous or harming our animals
  4. Hitting/ damaging the exhibit tanks
  5. Touching our animal without prior permission from our Company/ our Staff
  6. Giving hand signals / showing training body gestures/ whistling to our animals
  7. Asking questions or making statements regarding our animals that are deemed to be inappropriate by our Company/our Staff

Photo/video recording, live-streaming, and publication

  1. Unauthorized live-streaming or broadcasting
  2. Unauthorized photo, audio, or video recording for commercial purposes
  3. Photo, audio, or video recording with filming equipment, e.g. monopods, tripods, selfie sticks, drones, or remote-controlled devices
  4. Photo shooting and use of flashlights or photography equipment in specified restricted areas
  5. Photo, audio, or video recording with lighting equipment/excessive lighting that might disturb other visitors
  6. Occupying any public spaces (e.g. at the front of our tanks) for a long time for photo/ video recording
  7. Photo, audio, or video recording and posting of other visitors or our Staff (except for photo-taking time in our events/ guides to our animals)

Article 5 (Refusal of Entry and Request to Vacate)

Our Company/ our Staff reserves the right to refuse entry to or ask any visitors to leave the Aquarium in the following cases. Our Company/ Our staff reserve the final interpretation based on reasonable grounds. No refunds for any purchased tickets in these cases. Considering the necessity, our Company may also contact the police, legal representatives, or other authorities to take appropriate actions.

  1. When a visitor engages in the prohibited acts as described in the preceding article
  2. When a visitor engages or has previously engaged in any acts of violence, threat, intimidation, extortion, coercion, or demands for money and properties to our Company/ our staff; or when the accommodation of the visitor comes with irrational reasons in terms of business operations.
  3. When a visitor violates public orders or morals, including all actions that could result in any, or when the visitor casts the public image of the Aquarium in shadow
  4. When a visitor engages in illegal acts of violence (either collectively or chronically), or the visitor is recognized as a member or associate member of any gang group, gang-affiliated association, special intelligence violence group, or a corporate bouncer/ social movement fraudster (hereinafter known as “Anti-Social Groups”). Or when the visitor has any kind of connection with Anti-Social Groups.
  5. When a visitor violates these Terms & Conditions as deemed by our Company
  6. Other acts considered inappropriate/negatively influential to our operation

Article 6 (Disclaimers)

Our Company is not obliged to pay any compensation in the following cases.

  1. Accidents caused by calamities, e.g. earthquake, fire, or typhoon
  2. Accidents due to visitors' carelessness
  3. Theft/loss of visitor’s belongings, luggage, strollers, etc.
  4. Disputes among visitors
  5. Accident caused when visitors do not follow our reminders, rules, and instructions (including the signs at the Aquarium) from our Company/ our Staff
  6. Disputes stemming from unauthorized publication of photos, videos, or audio recordings
  7. Disputes due to the changes in the operation hours, days, event schedule or cancelation of any events due to our maintenance inspection, undesirable health conditions of our animals, weather conditions, or any other force majeure.

Article 7 (Daily Operations)

In the following cases, our Company reserves the right to change operation hours, close the Aquarium, and make changes in the exhibits and events without prior notice. No ticket refund or compensation (e.g. transport fees) shall be made for any of these changes.

  1. For inspection, repairment, or construction work of the Aquarium
  2. For the health and safety of our animals
  3. In the event of calamities, such as earthquake, fire, typhoon, bad weather conditions, or other accidents
  4. In the event of the outbreak of contagious disease, or when any request from authorities to reduce/ suspend the operations of the Aquarium; or for the difficulties in the operations of the Aquarium that our Company is not responsible for
  5. When it is deemed necessary by the Aquarium

Article 8 (Indemnity & related legal actions)

Our Company reserves the right to demand indemnity from visitors in the following cases.

  1. When the facilities, exhibits, decors, equipment, or other properties are damaged
  2. When the visitor engages in prohibited acts and causes harm to our animals
  3. When the visitor engages in the prohibited acts specified in Article 4 and causes mental/ physical damage to other visitors/ our Staff
  4. When the visitor violates these Terms & Conditions and causes damage to our Company

Article 9 (Personal information policy)

The personal information collected by our Company shall only be used for admission procedures, issues/ management of the Aquarium Club membership card, annual passport, promotions related to the Aquarium and Sunshine City, and for other purposes stated in our Company’s Privacy PolicyOpen in a new window. Any personal information collected by our Company shall be handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

Article 10 (Amendments)

Our Company serves the right to make amendments to these Terms & Conditions when necessary (e.g. additions of definitions and precautions). Our Company is obliged to announce the changes and their effective date on the Aquarium’s website before they become effective.
